You have two sets of weights (one medium and one heavy) with the opportunity to play around and figure out if you need heavier weight. I almost wish I weren’t leaving this review but how can I not share the 8th wonder of the world? That would be selfish. The studio itself, Kinship, is absolutely stunning. The high ceilings in the yoga room, the beautiful bricks, the teachers, the cold plunge, the sauna, the showers, the garden, the astounding staff, the myriad of amazing workshops, the generosity behind it all~ providing water, tea, etc (free of charge unlike many other studios). This is by far the best studio in Los Angeles (I was born here and have been to many).

The Lenox location doesnt give proper directions. Thankfully I was early because I rode around the mall for 10 minutes. I called twice, no answer. Luckily I saw two people dressed up in workout clothes and asked them if they knew where it was and they were able to guide me. (Bottom floor of the garage at Lenox mall). 2. This isn’t beginner friendly. It moves very quickly and you need to know what to semi do. The trainers were sweet and definitely went around the room helping, but all I kept thinking in between dying during reps is that a beginner would probably be overwhelmed. But overall fantastic class and I’m looking forward to coming back!

I really like how she encouraged us in the last 10 seconds of each rep to finish strong. "You got this!" Both instructors took time to show me around the gym and check in with me after our class as it was my first time here. The hot room is kept at 90° so it's no unbearable. Keep in mind that the more bodies in the room will add some extra heat. The core provides you with all the necessary equipment, but you can bring your own sweat towel or yoga mat if you prefer. it was a fun class, and I'm proud of myself for sticking to it and finishing strong!

I also really vibe with her chill house playlist— it gives just enough energy and relaxation which gives the boost to do the moves but also be steady whilst in the move. The only thing id say is when she counts and cues “holds” she’ll say, for example, “hold in 4..3..2..1.. mini pulses” which is confusing because I’m not sure if we are going to hold in 4 seconds as she’s counting down or if we are supposed to be holding while she’s counting down. So more clarity on that would be helpful. Additionally , when transitioning from legs to obliques, i wish we transitioned to the opposite oblique of the leg we had worked on instead of the same side oblique because it felt like my leg was too fatigued to be able to fully work the same side oblique. Other than that i really like Abby’s coaching style! One of my fav instructors at lagree!

see all reviewsWow, this was like my 6th or 7th flow at Black Swan and one of my favorites. Hailey is SO talented at instructing. She talks through easy movements but demonstrates more complex ones. I’m intermediate in yoga but have never had someone actually teach how to use blocks. She incorporated blocks for a LOT of the flows and it was so freaking amazing I’m literally still in shock from how good the flow was and how much I learned. This was probably the most I’ve ever sweat during a flow!! I will for sure try to do more classes with her. I brought a friend, whose first time it was, and she freaking loved it so much too — she said she felt like it healed her knees and it was so restorative. Thank you so much Hailey, you are made for this!!
